ROOFTOP GARDEN PROJECT – MAY 2019 – HAUTS-DE-FRANCE
As part of a residency for the creation of ephemeral works to mark the first opening of this venue in May 2019. The aim is to draw on the site’s history to create a dynamic of cultural sharing and transmission with local residents, visitors and tourists. Two works were created on the roof, establishing a dialogue with the mining landscape and offering a new vision of the site. This project is being carried out in collaboration with the Musée du Louvre-Lens, as part of the exhibition on Greek mythology. At the same time, a third work, “La Source”, was created collectively and in a participatory manner. Residents will have the opportunity to get involved in the artistic process and contribute to the history of their place, while enriching their experience with art and culture, and strengthening the link between community, history and the natural heritage of the place.
